About AA-CA

AA-CA, which stands for the Africa Anti-Counterfeiting Agenda, is a gathering of government, businesses, and civil society in Africa. They come together to discuss and find solutions to the problem of counterfeit goods throughout the continent.

Our goal is to raise awareness and protect Africa’s intellectual property. Counterfeit goods have been causing harm to economies, governance, and the health and safety of citizens. AA-CA aims to address this issue by promoting collaboration, innovation, and preparedness at national, regional, and continental levels
.
AA-CA wants to encourage the exchange of information and knowledge, foster cooperation, and standardize the supply chain in Africa to prevent counterfeit and low-quality products from entering the market. They also aim to create public awareness about the impact of counterfeiting and the importance of intellectual property rights for African economies and communities.

To achieve these goals, AA-CA has several objectives. They include developing common anti-counterfeiting policies and laws, establishing government agencies dedicated to fighting counterfeiting, creating a continental watchdog agency to coordinate efforts, forming consumer-driven organizations, and supporting a secure and standardized supply chain to protect Africa from counterfeit and harmful products
.
In summary, AA-CA is a collaborative effort in Africa to combat the problem of counterfeit goods. It aims to raise awareness, develop policies, coordinate efforts, and protect the African economy and consumers from the negative impacts of counterfeiting.
